Chromesthesia: Si | performance

“Chromesthesia: Si” – an audiovisual perfomance, a collaboration of Sasha Kovaleva and ukrainian modern classic composer Andriy Volyk.
Detained in a sharp frames of space and walls, though protected from the viewers in an empty hall of the castle, Volyk performed an improvisation, that revealed the expressive capabilities of just one note.
According to Kovaleva’s concept, the musician had to remain solitary with his music. Without going beyond the hall or the acoustic-colour synesthesia, Andrii Volyk, using a single note as the basis, was placing the melodic core of improvisation in different harmonious contexts. And the viewers faced with a restriction on access to the musician’s personal space.
