Blood goes to earth | performance

November 2021, being 8 months pregnant, Sasha Kovaleva went to a war zone on East of Ukraine, where the war with Russia started 8 years ago, in 2014, to dig that specific earth people fought and died for.

That was a foreboding of a full scale war, that Russia started against Ukraine 3 months later.

Du sang va dans la terre — a Ukrainian proverb, that means that everything passes, just like blood of soldiers that with time is absorbed by the earth. But just as this blood, things that has been forgotten with the flow of time, they are going to stay deep inside forever. And they will take the new mysterious forms, as blood grows from earth in a form of flowers.  

The performance took place first time July 9 2022, during exhibition “Fairy Tales” at the gallery of Manior Enchante.
